Situated under the sun of the French Riviera, between Cannes and Nice, close to St. Tropez, Monaco, Monte Carlo, Italy and 300m from the beach in this sought after area of the Cote d’Azur.

Camping du Pylone is a modern, friendly and safe campsite for young and old, with neat emplacements shaded by mature trees.  It offers everything for those wishing to enjoy a quiet relaxing holiday and for those who seek something more, provided on site, is a bar, disco and restaurant. There is an excellent swimming pool that is supervised July and August, when entry costs 2 Euros, per person, per day, at all other times entry is free. There is a separate, safe pool for babies and toddlers and a small shop selling ice creams and cold drinks.

The beach is a 5 minute walk from the entrance to the site. It is pebbly but offers some fabulous views of the bay. There are also some lovely sandy beaches only a short distance away.

On-site Amenities.

A well equipped mini supermarket, selling general provisions, drinks, pharmaceuticals, ice, newspapers, etc. and bakery selling fresh bread and patisseries baked twice a day, which are open from 7am to 7pm daily in the high season (these may vary slightly at other times of the year).

A superb restaurant, offering a reasonably priced three course a la carte menu.

A take-away facility from the restaurant, with a fairly extensive menu, offering good portions.

A pizza hut take-away, not the Pizza Hut, but still very good value for money with a large variety.

A bar with Big Screen Sky TV .

Nightly entertainment ranging from live bands, and karaoke nights to quiz nights and bingo.

There are facilities to play Table Tennis, Volleyball, Football and Boules. There are also children’s play areas and fishing in the local river that runs alongside the site (you can see the fish and so can the local herons).

Shower blocks open 24 hours a day with a plentiful supply of hot water.

A laundry area is situated behind the Reception Block and tokens for the machines can be obtained from the supermarket.

The Reception area has an information desk, telephones, bureau de change and interpreters.

The train station is a 5 minute walk. Trains are frequent in summer and good in winter, but remember they have long lunch hours. Check timetables; ask for ‘Un Horaire’ at any station that is manned. Fares are very reasonable, especially when compared with UK prices.

Buses are very good, especially out of season and so are the fares.

How to get there

You can fly to Nice. There are several low-cost airlines that now fly to Nice from numerous locations in the UK.  Book early for the cheapest fares. We can arrange for someone to pick you up at the airport, or you can use the No.200 bus, which stops outside the Terminal 1 Arrivals Hall at the airport and will drop you off at Biot railway station, 100m from the entrance to the site.

You can drive. Either the ferry crossing at Dover or the Channel Tunnel from Ashford to either Calais or Boulogne then pick a motorway to Paris, and then onwards to Antibes via Marseilles. Travelling time about 15 hours approximately, distance about 750 miles. The motorways are rarely crowded, often pretty with good service stations.

There are cheap hotels near every motorway exit including Formule 1, Ibis, Premier Classe and Campanile. Prices are from £20 to £40 for B&B. Always clean, mostly ensuite and friendly.

Let the train take the strain. Eurostar/TGV from Waterloo or Ashford - book with French Railways (SNCF) for the cheapest fares. Very fast in France up to 300 km/hr. A stress-free way to travel, take about 10 hours. Get off at Antibes, the stop after Cannes (about 10 minutes) and then catch the local train to Biot (about 3 minutes), come out of the station and the camp is 100 m down the road immediately in front of the station. If you chose this option let me know and I will tell you how to book through French Railways, as this is much cheaper than booking through British Rail.
